To reach the starting point you have to reach a settlement Matke first. On the old road Ljubljana - Celje, turn right (from Ljubljana direction) or left (from Celje direction) in Šempeter. Follow the Necropolis sign - you can stop here at the Roman Necropolis and jump 2000 years back in time. After you've had your share of history, follow the road towards Šešče. Cross the bridge over Savinja, turn right on the crossroad and then immediately take the first left turn to reach Matke. Once there, pass the fire station and follow the road to the crossroad. Take the right road to the next intersection and leave the car there under the watchful eye of Kamnik. Take the right road pass the farm and you will already see the marks that will lead you to the top of Golava. The path is wide at first and crossed grassland but soon you will reach the forest. Here starts the steep part that can be tricky after rain. Hiking poles and good shoes are highly recommended. Follow the path to the ridge where a beautiful view over Lower Savinja valley opens. Up to here it will take a good hour of hiking and you still have about 15 minutes to the top. Once you've rached the top there's a bivouac where you can rest, stamp and sing a register book. A beautiful view over Mrzlica opens. To get back follow the same path, but be careful on the steep parts.
