On the Ljubljana – Maribor highway exit for Žalec (near Celje). Drive to center and follow the Griže direction. After a 5 minute drive you will come to the village Migojnice. Leave your car at the big parking space in the middle center of Migojnice.

Just across the parking space you will see a big monument. Follow the road on the left side of that monument straight to the chapel where you need to turn right uphill. You are still in the settlement of Migojnice. At the last house the blazes will lead you into the forest.

The path goes up and down and is not demanding at all except for a 10 minute steep part. The path mainly goes through a thick forest that will provide shadow in summer and offer a lot of mushrooms in autumn.

After about 35 minutes of hiking you will need to take a sharp left turn and after a few meters the trail will join with narrow macadam road. From here on there’s just a few steps to the hut on Bukovica. It is only open at weekends but it offers a beautiful view on bigger neighbor Gozdnik.

The whole hike shouldn’t take you more than 45 minutes either summer or winter.
