Brnica is a popular weekend destinatio. In winter it is best to tackle it by road from Kasaze, especially if you're hiking with kids or elders. From Celje drive to Arja vas (in direction of Ljubljana) and turn left for Petrovče. Drive straight ahead, cross river Savinja and when you get to Kasaze you will see a big parking space. If coming from Ljubljana exit the highway for Arja vas and then just drive straight thgrough Petrovče until you reach Kasaze. From the parking space walk in in the same direction as you came until you see a sign for Brnica. Turn left and follow the road. Don't be afraid as there are not many cars driving there. The road goes through a forest that gives plenty of shadow in summer. After a while you will come to the house with number 114. There you leave the road on a path that turns right just after the house. It's a bit steeper than road but far from demanding. If there's a lot of snow in winter, just follow the road. It will lead you to the hut as well. The hut is open only on weekends and they serve all kinds of drinks, but no food. From the hut there's a beautiful view over Celje. The walk takes about 30 minutes in one direction.
