Veliki Rogatec stands upon Gornji Grad in Zadrečka valley. Starting point for Veliki Rogatec is near St. Lenart church. To get to there drive through Gornji Grad (if you're coming from highway) and just behind the eding sign for Gornji Grad turn right at the chapel. If you're coming from Kamnik turn left at the chapel just before Gornji Grad. The road becomes macadam soon and just follow it until you see a church top inbetween trees. You will find a parking space and a red sign with paths painted on it.

Choose the steep middle path. Soon you'll cross the road. Follow the blazes and you'll come to the end of the road and the path will take you through the forest. In about 30 minutes of steep trail you'll reach the saddle Kal. If you have time you can go to Lepenatka that is on your left (20 minutes).

For Veliki Rogatec turn right and go through the door in the fence that keeps the cows on grassland. Before that you can visit the bivouac on Kal.

The path to Rogatec is very steep at most points and some light climbing is required. As the path is not secured it is marked as very difficult.

From saddle Kal you will need about 50 minutes to the top. Spectacular views open.

To return just follow the path that brought you to the top and descend on the other side of the top towards Špeh. Be carefull as the path is quite steep. Once you've reached Špeh (the only farmhouse you'll pass) follow the path towards Gornji Grad to the church of St. Lenart. There you can drink the water from the stream. Go up to the road that goes by the church and you'll reach the parking lot in few minutes.
