Stolpnik also know as Konjiška gora got its name from the town Slovenske Konjice but we chose the other side of the hill to get to the top. From Highway Maribor Ljubljana exit for Celje - center and then follow the road towards Vojnik. Stay on the main road, pass Vojnik and in 10 minutes (or less) you will come to Frankolovo. Pass Frankolovo and soon after it turn right in Črešnjice direction. Follow the road until you get to the village Črešnjice and park at the church. Then go behind the church and you will see a sign for Konjiška gora in our case Stolpnik. Pass the football / handball court, cross the grassland and you will get into the forest. The path goes through the forest all the way to the top so Stolpnik can be visited in any time of the year as the tree tops provide shadow on hot days. At first the path is reasonably steep but after a while becomes a real knee biter. The steep part might exhaust you and as there's no open hut by the path or on top, don't forget to bring water. Lucky lyit's not a long hike as it will only take an hour to reach the top. Once there you can climb the tower and enjoy the panoramic vista across almost half of Slovenia.
