| Raduha (2062 m) from Loka |
|
|
Raduha is the highest mountain of the eastern part of Kamniško – Savinjske alps. It is divided from the rest of the ridge by the river Savinja and it seems as if it stands on her own. We are starting on Loka. To get there head for Logarska valley and after Ljubno turn right at the sign for “Snežna jama” (a cave). Follow the road for about 11 km and you will get to the parking place where you can leave the car. From there it is a 15 minutes walk to the hut on Loka. Behind the hut starts the trail. Follow it for some time and then turn on the left path that goes up through the forest. This south trail to Raduha is not really demanding and is a good choice for people who are not really fit but want to get some “altitude”. The path is pretty straightforward and easy to follow. It is pretty open so the views are magnificent. When you come to a saddle, turn left and from now on the trail is pretty rocky but easy all the way to the top. The view from the top is magnificent. You see almost everything of Kamniško – Savinjske alps. In clear weather you can see Triglav (the highest mountain in Slovenia and the symbol of the country) and Julian alps. On your left is the whole ridge of Olševa. You can descend back to Loka or to the cave from where you have 15 minutes back to the car. The hike to the top from Loka will take you about 1.30 h. |
