From Ljubljana drive towards Kranj direction. On highway exit for Golnik and once there just pass Golnik as soon after the village there will be a steep right turn for Gozd. Follow the narrow steep road until you reach a big parking space. Park there and find the signs at the beginning of the parking space for Kriška gora - Strma pot (Steep path).

 

At first the path is pretty straight but soon it becomes quite steep. Most of it goes through the forest and thick trees will provide good shadow when hiking in summer. Once you get out of the forest the steepest part awaits. But if you turn away from the path you will be rewarded with spectacular views over the region below. You can see from Julian Alps to Ljubljana basin.

 

Few minutes before the hut the path becomes straight again and crosses a beautiful grassland. Beautiful views from the hut. You can see the whole ridge of Kriška gora with Tolsti vrh on its far end. Behind it Storžič rises.

 

You can descend by the same path or follow the path to Gozd but then you'll have to walk the road for a while to get to the car. This path is not steep but offers less views.
